Member Arrangements

This year's annual exhibition was a virtual Zoom meeting hosted on May 26, 2021. Chapter 182 members submitted nearly 80 different ikebana arrangements, miniatures and Zen gardens.

February 2021 - Morimono Challenge

Morimono is a style in the Ohara school using fruits, vegetables and non-conventional piled plant materials often on a defining base. The February challenge was for chapter members to make a Morimono style arrangement based on the February video by Satsuki Palter.

January 2021 - A Tribute to Norman Churchill

Norman Churchill is a Sogetsu Instructor and a long time member of our chapter. Many chapter 182 members owe their first instruction in ikebana to Norman. He was of enormous benefit to all of us but he relocated  to Las Vegas a few months ago. We will miss him but wish the best for him and his wife Beth. The one positive thing to his relocation was that he was willing to sell many of his containers and of course, many containers were purchased by chapter members. The members of chapter 182 would like to dedicate this virtual exhibition as a tribute to Norman Churchill using many of his containers and certainly to show to show our appreciation for years of his time and instruction.

January 2021 Art in Bloom Virtual Exhibition

Although our participation in the CMA exhibition was canceled, we have a virtual exhibition of the museum exhibits at the Columbia Museum of Art and the arrangements they inspired.

October 2020 SC State Fair Exhibition

The theme of this year's SC State Fair is:

"A Year Like No Other".

Chapter 182 was invited to exhibit ikebana arrangements for the two day, free, drive-through fair. October 20-21, 2020.

Virtual Exhibition in Memory of Jean Rhyne

Our August 2020 event is a virtual exhibition of arrangements made in containers which formerly belonged
to Jean Rhyne. Her estate was gracious enough to donate them to our chapter after her passing and many members purchased containers which she once used for Ikebana.
